Tax deadline cometh

Posted on April 15, 2007 by Angela

My anxiety level is skyrocketing as it is almost the deadline for filing with the IRS. All my forms are somewhere on my accountant’s desk – I hope she’s at least looked at ‘em. I think all those H&R Block commercials with frantic people stressed out from the impending deadline are adding to my anxiety. Yes, H&R Block, we all know you’re season is about to end. Please, don’t remind me!

Hopefully the IRS won’t screw me up the rear like they did last year (I’m a poet and I didn’t know it). In addition to my 1099, I have two W-2 forms and I did pay out A LOT in income taxes. I’m estimating a $500 bill to the U.S., and $300 to good ol’ Massachusetts. Of course, that is only a guesstimate based on what I was forced to pay last year. If my site isn’t updated for weeks, you’ll know that the actual bill was much higher and I ultimately jumped off the Tobin Bridge.

Use turbotax, fast , quick and easy. I filed last Monday and got my state tax back Friday. Federal, well Bush has to make his money off my refund first.

I tried to use Turbotax last year, thanks to the fucking 1099, it said I owed $2500. Thankfully, my accountant knew all the tax deductions I qualify for. Next year I won’t get another 1099 so hopefully I can go back to Turbotax (and get a return!)
