Last night, I realized how much I miss working in a bar when my boyfriend called me to give me the play-by-play of a drunk girl getting thrown out of his bar. He’s a cook at a small bar located next to the notorious Northeastern U and while cooking, Drunk Girl approached his counter (they have an open kitchen) and ordered two redheaded sluts. “Um, this is the kitchen. The bar’s over there,” he replied. Drunk girl wouldn’t take “no” for an answer and when bar security noticed, she was booted from the bar. (Please note, this occurred on a TUESDAY NIGHT!)
Thankfully, my friends are much less lazy than those accompanying this girl. For example, my friends would never let me CRAWL back into a bar I was just kicked out of like Drunk Girl’s friends did. By the time my boyfriend called me, I could hear Drunk Girl screaming about getting kicked out. I could also hear the doorman hail a cab, followed by my boyfriend’s hysterical laughter when the cab refused to take the fare.
It reminded me of last summer when I was working at the bar in South Boston. One night, I had a group of three guys and one girl and they were ordering shots like the world was coming to an end. Unfortunately for my group’s drunk girl, the bar’s bathrooms are located DOWNSTAIRS. My co-worker and I watched her tumble down the stairs and crawl back up to grab her cellphone. She didn’t realize we both just watched her fall but I don’t think she cared much either considering how much booze she consumed.
I miss humoring myself with the exploits of dangerously intoxicated girls.
I need to start filling out some applications! The newspaper biz is lonely.
until Andre Tippett's Enshrinement
until Patriots Training Camp!

i always wanted to be a bartender. but i definitely do not have any skils and i cannot put up with drunk girls. although, it would be a very humorous job.
Watching girls get thrown out of a bar is FUN! One bouncer has her by the arms or shoulders, the other has her feet. Nothing at all like seeing a drunk guy get taken out for goon dancing.
I wanted to be a bartender at times, luckily I never made it , I would have become an alcoholic sooner than I actually did. Life sober and being around sober folks is the place I like to be around now. Aww man cant remember how many times I have been kicked out of bars. My sobriety today is a miracle by itself, thanks to GOD. This post is a good reminder for me, I never want to go back out there again.
Take care and Cheers.
According to my boyfriend, the girl was in a dress, rolling around on the curb like a toddler.
Robin, that’s a great story! There are so many great things in life outside of bars.
i think photos would be great for this post, lol
