Can NBC just make To Catch a Predator a fulltime, weekly series already?! You know the Dateline segment, Dateline producers work with internet crusaders, Perverted Justice, set up a sting in some quiet suburban neighborhood, and invite adult guys over with the promise of illicit sex with children.
When the men arrive, they are invited in by a decoy who immediately runs off and Dateline correspondent Chris Hansen steps into the room to completely humiliate the potential pedophile. This is when things really get interesting. Will the alleged molester make up an outlandish lie? Will he try to run? Sometimes they just play it cool and say they just wanted to “hang out” despite having pockets full of condoms and lube, ‘cuz you know, what guy doesn’t carry that stuff around? It’s all innocent fun, they say, until Chris Hansen begins reading the incriminating Chat Logs. Oh, the chat logs…

Each segment is complete when the suspect walks out of the house thinking he is in the clear having learned a valuable lesson and, BAM, there are six police officers waiting for him with guns drawn.
It is television in all its finest glory!
Now, if NBC catches 50+ men at each sting, there should be more than enough stories for a weekly series. It would be like America’s Most Wanted: Pervert Edition. It would take creepy, sleezy scumbags off the street, potentially deter a novice, and provide hours of endless entertainment.
I’m really not trying to make light of the situation - I have a 12 year old sister that desperately wants her own computer with internet connection which is all the more reason why NBC should commit to a full time series.

i love that show. i think it’s great that NBC tries their best to catch pedophiles. & i like how the pedophiles think they’re getting away with everything, then BAM, the cops are there to arrest them.
