Sadness 5

You know, it’s sad when you read about someone dying but I think there is a different type of sadness when you hear of firefighters dying in the line of duty. Reading the paper this morning was painful.

On October 15, 2007, the blogging world will unite to discuss one issue – the environment – and I will be participating… sort of. I have enlisted my sister to write a guest post on that day! You see, my sister is an actual environmental scientist. She’s incredibly passionate about environmental issues particularly the public health aspect such as cancer, which she says is inextricably linked to what humans do to the environment.
Currently, she works as a Field Chemist for a company in Somerville. They go to various science labs throughout New England such as Harvard Medical, M.I.T. and Brown University and handle their chemicals.
She doesn’t have a website although I wish she did. Her life is so much more interesting than mine – like the time she saw Brown University researchers putting their sodas in the same fridge as severely dangerous chemicals or like the time when she went into a Rhode Island high school and saw multiple students literally running around with test tubes filled with sulfuric acid. She can vividly describe how socially inept some of the students at M.I.T. are or how fascinating the Harvard Medical Lab is.
Anyway, on October 15, I hope everyone will welcome Kristina. I’m sure she’s going to write something awesome. She’s a good writer, although she’ll never admit it.
Nothing interesting to report here…
I set up a flickr account for my boyfriend. He’s been obsessively uploading photos off his camera all night. I think I created a monster.
I’ve been meaning to write this but I kept forgetting… a HUGE thanks goes to Jeremy who bought me a beer after reading my True Stories from the Restaurant. Jeremy had a bad night at work and was entertained by the horrors I used to endure as a waitress. Knowing that I entertained him after a bad night was tip enough, but he still bought me a beer anyway. So to Jeremy, thank you. I’m sorry this thanks is so late.
After a heated debate today at work, I was effectively able to prove that Chicago is, in fact, not the windiest American city, despite its nickname. I love being right.
Because we just can’t get enough of Feasts, last night we stopped by St. Anthony’s Feast in the North End. And since I think I’m some kind of photographer, despite lacking any real photography skills, I took some pictures! Here goes….
Some guy singing.

Some people dancing.

St. Anthony Statue making its rounds.

My boyfriend, hitting on a band girl.

The Cannoli Girl, who happens to be incredibly sweet!

Confetti… duh.

Another whopper confetti fight.
You can view all my craptastic photos in all their un-edited glory HERE.
I'm Angela - a 30-something (OMG!) administrative assistant working in Cambridge, MA. I'm consumed by my endless devotion to the New England Patriots and I knit to kick off some steam. Oh, and I have a really whacky boyfriend to keep me entertained.
until the NFL Draft!
