Believe me, it hasn't been easy, but I've stuck with them. I winced when they took Michael Vick instead of Drew Brees, but after watching Michael play, I pretty much thought the guy was Superman. After a couple seasons I realized he was never going to take them to the promised land, and I settled in for another 7-8 years of Vick-led mediocrity. Atlanta, do the right thing and cut this thug loose. He is a disgrace to the NFL, and the sooner you do it, the sooner you can start to build a winner. I’ve been a Falcons fan since the early 70s. If this was a nerdy 18 year old white teenager doing those kind of things (electrocuting, strangling, drowning, bludgeoning, and worse) to dogs we'd all be up in arms about his potential to be a serial killer. Because it is a professional athlete we just give him a free pass and look the other way. Fact of the matter is that he tortured and maimed animals with absolutely no reason for doing so. No excuse can be made for his conduct. No amount of money or other financial restitution can undo those things. Like I said before if it were anyone but a professional athlete there wouldn't be a discussion. The book would have been thrown at them. I believe a long sentence is appropriate because of the danger to the community he presents. His propensity to torture animals reminds me of John Wayne Gacy, Ed Gein, and Jeffery Dahmer.
