I hate when the Patriots play on Monday night. I spend all week waiting for the next Patriots game and this week, I have to endure another day at work before I get one. Crappy.

Tonight, the Patriots take on the Cincinnati Bengals and I’m looking at the game like this – sure, Cincy has a potent offense with NFL class clown Chad Johnson, Carson Palmer, and T.J. Housyourmamma, but the Patriots have a pretty good offense themselves. The one difference between the two teams is defense. Crappy red zone defense aside – the Patriots are, hands down, much better on defense than Cincinnati. When you really think about it, if the Pats D can get off the field long before the red zone, it really doesn’t matter how crappy they are inside the 20, right? I’m just saying…

With the Patriots playing tonight, I had plenty of time to watch the other games yesterday afternoon. Jets at Buffalo and Denver at Indy on CBS and Fox cut off the St. Louis thrashing at the hands of Dallas midway to put on Green Bay at Minnesota. Just a thought… I’m not doubting how good the Dallas Cowboys are but at some points in the game it seemed as if it wasn’t that Dallas was playing well but that St. Louis was played crappy – for example, that horribly overshot snap that Tony Romo was easily able to pick up and run for a first down. I’m just saying…

Did anyone else watching the Buffalo – Jets game notice the stadium was playing the Dropkick Murphy’s “Shipping Up To Boston,” during the fourth quarter? I thought that was a WEIRD choice of song for Buffalo, New York while playing a New Jersey, er.. I mean, New York team.

I will also like to admit I was wrong – really wrong – about Brett Favre. See, I can admit when I’m wrong. I thought that he was done, kaput, over, stick a fork in him. I thought he was hindering the development of a young team by hanging on too long. I thought, “there’s no way this guy will even see a playoff game again, let alone a Super Bowl.” I was wrong as the Packers look to be one of the best in the NFC. D’oh.

I’d like to say I saw the Eagles – Giants game but I fell asleep minutes after kickoff. How embarrassing. What was it, 8:30? My God, I am turning into one lazy ass. I woke up briefly later on and saw what I thought said “Eagles 3, Giants 16” but I thought I was dreaming and went back to sleep. But other than that, I can’t comment on the game at all because I slept through it.

  1. I love that The Pats are in prime-time but I hate that the game doesn’t end till midnight. At least I don’t have to listen to the ESPN cast of clowns. I’ll have Gil and Gino on the radio ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was weird rooting for Oakland and Denver yesterday. Nice to see the Jets and S.D. now at 1-3.
    Agreed on Far-vre.

  2. That Eagles-Giants game was un-Godly boring. Hell, even the Rams-Cowboys game was dull, seeing as how the Rams suck beyond regular sucking. Here’s to hoping the game tonight is at least a little interesting.

And don’t worry, you weren’t the only one who though Favre was washed up. Every other football expert out there agreed with you. Thankfully though, Favre is a man-God who does not hear criticism and who listens to me. ๐Ÿ˜› Now if he could just conjure up a running game for us….

  3. Rooting for Denver was WEIRDER THAN WEIRD! My dad said it yesterday after cheering a Travis Henry run. I’m at the point now with Miami that I just didn’t care if they won or lost. I do like Jason Taylor so I almost felt bad. Definitely nice to see San Diego and the Jets at 1-3. It’ll be even better when they’re 1-4 and 1-5 and 1-6.

Goob, I hope and pray Tommy Brady will play as long Far-vre.

  4. Every week I see FAVre, I feel a bit better about the world. That is some kind of record he has now isn’t it? Can you imagine having that record and being able to drop on ppl at will, “So I uh, three more touchdowns than anyone else in history. What have you done? Oh nothing? That’s what I thought.” Ha ha ha

  5. Do you think Dan Marino cringes on the inside since his passing records are all he has? You know, since he never won the “big one”?

    Yes.
