I survived Black Friday – at the mall! I swore up and down that I wouldn’t go near the mall today but when my little sister needed to get a gift for her friend’s birthday, my annual boycott of the day after Thanksgiving was broken and we braved the crowds. And you know what? It wasn’t so bad.
My dad tells me that it’s only horrible in the morning when the stores have those ridiculous sales. A few years back, my dad rescued a little old guy from being trampled to death in front of Wal-Mart at 5 a.m. My dad was trying to get a $300 laptop for my little sister but when he saw the hoards of shoppers shove the old guy, he sprang into action, helped the man up, and as a result, didn’t get the $300 laptop.
“It’s not worth it,” my he said of his attempt to acquire a bargain. “Those people are monsters.”
Christmas brings out the best in everyone, eh?
