Angela’s unattainable New Year’s resolutions

Posted on January 02, 2008 by Angela

It’s trendy to make a list of resolutions for the new year. Since I’m one to stay on top of the trends, I thought I’d make a list of my own. Here goes:

1. Lose 70 pounds.

2. Pay off all outstanding parking tickets AND not get another new ticket for the entire year.

3. Quit smoking.

4. Successfully complete Blog 365.

5. Learn to knit.

6. Learn to cook. HA HA HA HA!

7. Find a second job for the weekends - once football season is over, of course!

8. Take more photos.

9. Pay off all credit card debt.

10. Quit neglecting my website and remove the outdated NaBloMoPo icon and update the “countdown.”

Let’s see how few of these resolutions I can keep! Yay!

Hmm, I should probably add # 2 to my list too. Although the thought of how much it is going to cost me is making me cringe.

    Thanks, Bigrayvin!

Colleen, I have a plan for paying off my tickets. Everyone in my office gets so many and if you place them on my boss’ desk, he pays them and doesn’t realize they aren’t his. :D

Thanks, Mad-knits! My boyfriend told me to learn, then knit him a scarf. Little does he know, it’s going to be a pink scarf. :D

“Unattainable”? What makes these resolutions so unattainable? I think the hardest for me would definitely be #1. I just love to eat. Personally, if I can force myself to get into a running routine (like early in the mornings before work) things become much easier.

But who in the hell wants to get up in run in this freakin’ cold weather?! You know what I’m sayin’.

  7. Angela says:

I was asking my grandmother what time the mall opens for walkers so I could head in there and get some free exercise. :D

  8. Bush Mackel says:

@Angela - You know, I saw ppl doing that over break. Certainly better than doing nothing, you get to talk to people, and if you were trying to find some Wii’s to sell on eBay, you’d be right in the thick of things if you’re at the mall all the time. (#):D

  9. Angela says:

Yeah, I went to the mall last night for some “exercise” and ended up buying stuff. I have no control!

  10. Angela,
I truly do with you the best on attaining some (if not all) of your resolutions… personally my last successful New Years Resolution was in 1993 when I resolved to never make another one… If I can keep that one surely you can do yours!
    All the best in 2008.
