Angela’s snow day

Posted on January 14, 2008 by Angela

winter sucks

Normally, a morning in which my car won’t start ends with hysterical crying, screaming, and a stubbed toe from kicking said car. This morning, on the other hand, when my car wouldn’t start, I was overcome with joy because it meant I had an actual viable excuse to stay home from work. Hallelujah! It’s only fair – I haven’t missed a day of work since my trip to Disney World… in December of 2006!

And really, today was one of those days (8 inches of freshly fallen snow) when you really didn’t want to go to work. Like my boyfriend says, “The only people that like snow are little kids and plow drivers.” I’ll one-up him and add skiers/snowboarders to that. For the record, I am neither a little kid nor a plow-driving skier. Snow sucks.

Oh, and there was plenty of food to eat since my boyfriend and I made sure to race to the grocery store last night and stock up on the essentials. You know, bread, milk, Apple Jacks, cigarettes… which reminds me of another one of my dad’s conspiracy theories (he has a lot of ‘em). My dad is CONVINCED Boston meteorologists have signed contracts with Stop & Shop and Shaw’s Supermarkets. Judging by the bar shelves and long lines at 8:30 p.m. on a Sunday night, I’d say maybe.

But anyway, how ’bout dem Pats?!
