Not only does my boyfriend have excellent taste in women (har har), he’s a bonafide hero now, too! Let me explain…
While I’m sitting here at the office, my boyfriend and his cousin decided to enjoy the heat at the beach. As they were relaxing, they overheard cries from a group of kids. They discovered a girl drowning and sprang into action, pulling the girl from the water and attempting CPR until paramedics arrived.
He was convinced the girl died and called me hysterical (which is so not like him) but he just got a call from state police telling him that the girl is in stable condition. There’s no word on if she suffered any brain damage because, as my boyfriend says, she was underwater for a long time, but alive is alive! He and his cousin are still shaken, but very much relieved knowing the girl is safe.
I knew he was good for something.
I’m so proud of him, I can’t help but brag.
UPDATE: Really bad news, The Item is reporting now the girl died. My boyfriend is going to be heartbroken.
UPDATE 2: My boyfriend and his cousin were on Channel 7 (video on the right). I just got off the phone and he is really upset.
until I visit the Patriots Hall of Fame!

WOW!
Do you think he’ll be in the news!!?
I don’t know. He said Fox 25 interviewed him but who knows what they’ll choose to air. He’ll be in my newspaper for sure because it happened in one of our cities.
that is awesome!!!!! Hope the girl will recover 100%
I just saw the story on Channel 7 and 5, but they didn’t have any interviews.
So sorry that she died. He did all he could though and he should be proud of that.
This one on Fox has the interview with him and his cousin.
Wow! That’s pretty cool that he did that. I’m sorry to read that everything didn’t work out with a “happily ever after” ending, but he did what he could and more than some people would have.
Oh! very sad.. I wished for her life at the beginning of the incident.

So sorry to learn that she did not make it.
Did he console himself while watching his favorite channel The Lifetime Movie Network?
Angela, haven’t checked your blog in a while, and I just read this post. When I saw this story on the news the day it happened, I saw your boyfriend on the news, although I didn’t realize it was him.
That was an extremely brave and selfless thing for him to do, not many people would have had the reaction to take it upon themselves and jump in to help.
Even though she didn’t pull through, he is still a hero.
