As you might remember, I got fired and subsequently unfired on Tuesday. As much as I didn’t want to, I had to go into work on Wednesday (which just so happens to be production day). I guess there’s some truth to that whole, “It’s not smart to live paycheck-to-paycheck” thing because then you get stuck in situations like this.
I decided I would give them a real scare and show up at 10 a.m. When I walked in, my mean boss (who, from this moment on, I will refer to as “Mean Boss”) was on my computer. I went outside and had a butt until he got off, not saying two words to him.
Once I got back in, the day went on as any other Wednesday would. I had a lot of work to do to take my mind off my seething anger. Then, Mean Boss came out of his office on another rampage. I don’t even know what set him off this time but an almost identical confrontation occurred between him and a co-worker. Again, he threatened to call the police to have her removed. What’s with the police thing?
As they were screaming at each other, I tried as hard as I could to not laugh but it was so hard when Mean Boss started screaming, “You must respect me!” Eric Cartman anyone? All that was missing from his tirade was fist-clenching and jumping up and down.
Long story short, she’s gone and I’m left there all alone with Mean Boss and Nice Boss. I now have no co-workers which is horribly depressing. Mean Boss is still mean and I don’t know how I’m going to handle it all alone, taking on the full brunt of his bitter wrath. Pray for me, and my monster.com account.

until Patriots Training Camp!

She wasn’t lucky enough to get unfired? That’s sad…now not only do you have to put up with the “bitter wrath” of mean boss, but you also have to do all the work yourself! At least you still have a job I guess, gives you some time to seriously consider finding something better.
Working there is VERY bad for your health and your soul. I’d resign today, now, right away, asap, prontisimo.
Sometimes pride is worth more then security.
You should have told him to go fuck himself, and walked out with the other person. Surely there’s other jobs out there.
I just don; understand why people put up with incompetent management; weather it be bosses who throw their workers under the bus, or bosses on ego trips.
There needs to be a mutual respect in a workplace, it’s not worth getting worked up about that you have a boss in his terrible twos.
All I can say is that sucks and I really hope you can get out of there, asap!!!
I don’t think she wanted to get unfired. It was pretty much one of those “You can’t fire me… I quit!” type things. Fortunately, I have a fresh, updated resume all ready to go and I’ve been sending some out. No response yet.
I also pray for you. In the many jobs I have had since graduating college I have ran into situations like this as well and it never leads to anything good. No matter what you do you can never win. It sort of like gettin pulled over by the cops you want to kick and scream but no matter how loud you do it nobody really listens. Try craigslist also there are some good jobs there.

I am gonna take a stab in the dark, Could your coworker have been the one that was meant to be fire from the beginning?
Holy shit!!! For your own sanity, I would hope that you’re already looking for a new job!! That’s just crazy!! Somewhat reminds me of when I was fired. Funny thing is my old boss… two years later… emailed me and said letting me go was the biggest mistake she ever made. LOL I couldn’t help but smile.
