Oh, they only clinched a playoff spot? Really? Are you sure? Seems like a slightly excessive celebration for that, huh?

yeah this celebration of clinching a wildcard spot seems a little crazy at this point, but then so does the fact that the same celebration takes place after the ALDS and the ALCS..
I could see back a few years ago when making the playoffs was a rare thing.. whatever.
And that picture of those Jest fans actually spelling out ‘JEST’ is.. so. awesome.

to be fair though, that is probably what got them tv coverage!!
The Sox going to the playoffs and the yankees going home is a big deal. They worked hard this season. There’s nothing overboard with the champagne.
Definitely not intentional. The Jets were only down 10 at that point, and were about to cut the lead even further… this was pure NY stupidity.
