All Dunkin Donuts are not created equal
At long last, my 500th college semester (technically my ninth, but who’s counting) is over and my final paper has been completed and emailed. *Satisfied sigh*
With all that work behind me for a few months, and with it being a beautiful, sunny day and all three Boston sports teams earning a victory last night, one would think today was a joyous day in Angela-land. Quite the contrary, my friends.
Something horrible has happened. Something so terrible, I don’t know how I’m going to function from now on… the Dunkin Donuts across the street from my office has closed (for the week). And this isn’t just any Dunkin Donuts, it’s the best damn Dunkin Donuts lost in a sea of crappy Dunkin Donuts where the coffee is ALWAYS fresh and my bagel is always toasted exactly to my specifications (which is surprisingly difficult for many other Dunkin Donuts employees).
And don’t for a minute tell me a Dunkin Donuts is a Dunkin Donuts is a Dunkin Donuts. Only someone from another region of the country who only has one DD within 50 miles would say something so ludicrous. On average, many Dunkin Donuts serve coffee so bitter I want to gag upon each sip. They serve bagels so stale they could be mistaken for hockey pucks. Their employees are either completely stupid or so apathetic about their jobs that no matter what you order, they will screw it up.
Not at my Dunkin Donuts. NEVER at MY Dunkin Donuts.
Now, because of, I’m assuming, some corporate decree that all franchisees must renovate perfectly fine buildings, I must endure a FULL WEEK without my Dunkin Donuts! Don’t they realize I’m going to starve to death!
This morning, I attempted to get my breakfast from another Dunkin Donuts. My bagel, which I requested to be burnt (that’s how I like it, damn it), was anything but. In fact, I don’t think the thing even saw a toaster. It was ice cold by the time I got to my office. My coffee tasted as if it had been brewed last night. AND… AAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDDDD I paid more for it than at my beloved DD. *tear*
I don’t know how I am going to survive this week.
until the NFL Draft!

Here’s your chance to align yourself with a local coffee shop or bakery.
Give up on Dunkin Donuts, they’re basically crap.
Dunkin Donuts is not crap. Who would say that? Dunkin Donuts is the best.
I love the Dunkins on Route 16 and the Fellsway. I think they’re pretty good.
The worst I’ve seen in my life is in Central Mass. They can’t toast a bagel to save their life.
Not all Dunks are created equal.
After reading your post, I am praying to the Dunks Gods that this week will get better. Fingers crossed. Sounds awful.
Yeah, the one on Rt. 16 is owned by the same lady that owns the one across from my office. I went there this morning and it was good. They didn’t screw up my bagel either!
I was just in Madison WI, last week and they do not have ONE dunkin donuts! I have never not lived within walking distance of one.
