Sucky suck suck

Well, last night sucked royally. Three professional sports teams, three spectacular losses and I know exactly what was the cause for such profound failure. All complaints may be addressed to my boyfriend because he did the UNTHINKABLE yesterday. While out picking up a few things at the store, he noticed a very nice sweatshirt in a bargain bin and he just couldn’t resist the ridiculous price ($3). The only problem – it’s not just any sweatshirt, it’s a Super Bowl *gasp* 42 sweatshirt.

He purchased a sweatshirt which is commemorating the worst night of my sports-loving life. AND HE BROUGHT IT INTO MY HOUSE! INTO MY BEDROOM! Do you know how much bad sports karma he unleashed?! (Because we all know my apartment is the epicenter of the universe so what is brought into it must have a drastic effect upon sporting events.) By the way, are there any New York Giants fans out there who would like a brand-new Super Bowl 42 sweatshirt? $50 or best offer. 😉

The Celtics and Red Sox losses are easier to handle but that Bruins loss in overtime sucked the life out of me. Tim Thomas was making acrobatic saves, jumping all over the place and a stupid, little bleepy got past him. That’s how it always happens. I think it’d be easier to handle if he hadn’t played the game of his life and if the goal was an impressive shot from anyone other than that ugly muck Walker.

Nothing to me will ever, EVER feel worse than how I felt on that fateful evening in February of 2008 – but last night was close and I feel for the diehard Bruins fans today. In time, Bruins fans, that pain will go away. It won’t be forgotten though. Not a day goes by when I don’t think to myself, “Gee golly (because that’s how I talk to myself in my head), if only Adalius Thomas would have just grabbed Eli. If only Asante could hold that ONE FUCKING INTERCEPTION!!! If only Rodney Harrison… Oh fuck this, I’m going to sleep.”
