Project 365: February 4

Posted on March 02, 2009 by Angela

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to take part in Project 365 and I’m pleased to say that after two months I still haven’t quit. Yet. Though, if spring doesn’t get here soon I might have to because I’m running out of things in my house to photograph. I need some warm weather so I can get out there!

My February favorites:
The sky looked pretty.
Pink sky

I noticed my boyfriend had doodled on our box of Frosted Flakes.
Phelps the pot head

I made cupcakes! That’s quite an accomplishment for me. Of course, frosting them is another story…

Project 365: 15 of 365… Out of the closet 2

This morning, my dad decided to clean out our storage closet and discovered a treasure trove of old stuff. It’s unusual because my dad has a tendency to throw everything away, like my W-2 tax forms (which he did last year).

Some of our discoveries:

  • Full newspapers celebrating the Celtics World Championship… in 1986.
  • An unopened pack of blank cassette tapes. Mixtapes anyone?
  • The page Drew Bledsoe purchased in the Globe to say goodbye to New England.
  • A 1974 Ken Hodge card.
  • My old Boys II Men CD.
  • A book I made in fifth grade about a field trip our class took.
  • A New Orleans guide book published by the Times-Picayune from when he went to Super Bowl XX.
  • A giant box of worthless unused checks that as recently as last week I searched everywhere for and couldn’t find and ended up having to buy a new box. Grrr.

Oh, and this gem, which I find so timely to share…

Project 365: Epic Non-failure 3

Posted on January 13, 2009 by Angela

So, I’m 12 days in to Project 365 (take a photo each day for a year) and I’m proud to say that despite leading the most boring life imaginable, I have actually succeeded in making sure to take a damn picture each day. I’ve now discovered, as well as documented, how horribly dull my life is.

This little project thingy would have been much more exciting if I had undertaken it a few years back B.B. (Before Boyfriend) when I actually had a life outside of work, boyfriend, home, work, boyfriend, and home. You know, there was a time when I did wild and crazy things like… get this… go to bars and consume a few alcoholic beverages! I know, totally wacky. Prior to my current domestic bliss, I was the one always standing next to the life of the party, pint of Guinness in hand.

But then I met my boyfriend. And one night at our local stomping grounds, I somehow managed to get into a verbal altercation with two guys who shoved me, a drink thrown in my face, a smashed beer bottle and a night at the police station. Good times, my friends.

Now, I find myself taking photos of my sister’s cat and things I’ve knit and epic-fail brownies and my car… but God Damn It… I’m doing it no matter how boring it is!

Anyway, I’m really backlogged now and instead of wasting $24.95 on a Flickr Pro account I made a little page for them right here. So far, these are my favorites:

neighborhood
This is where I tried to get all artsy-fartsy. The sky looked really pretty that morning as I walked to my car. So pretty that for a brief moment I forgot that I was on my way to work. I thought that was definitely worth capturing.

Randy! Randy! Randy!
My Randy Moss Macfarlane. After taking a few of these, I noticed how badly I need to dust.

Dusty!
Cat-sitting a sitting cat.

12 down, 353 to go (and yes, I totally used my computer’s calculator to figure out that number cuz me a math dummie).
